Home Delivered Meals
Follow Us
The
Home Delivered Meals Program provides nutritious meals to eligible homebound older adults throughout Swain County. This service helps seniors maintain their independence while ensuring they have access to healthy meals and regular social interaction. For many participants, the daily meal delivery is more than just food, it is a friendly visit, a wellness check, and a connection to the community. Our staff and volunteers often become a familiar and trusted presence, helping reduce isolation and providing peace of mind for families.
Schedule: Monday thru Thursday (closed weekends and holidays)

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the heart of our Home Delivered Meals Program. By donating just a small amount of time, you can make a meaningful difference in the life of a local senior.
Meal deliveries take place Monday through Thursday, with route pickup at the Swain Senior Center beginning around 10:30 a.m. Most routes can be completed in approximately one hour.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors.
- Provide a friendly face and brief social interaction.
- Help us identify potential concerns or needs that may require follow-up.
- Support older adults in remaining independent in their own homes.
Whether you can volunteer once a week, once a month, or as a substitute driver, your time and compassion can have a lasting impact.
To learn more about receiving meals or becoming a volunteer, please contact the Swain Senior Center at (828) 488-3047.
